Summary of Issue : The credit reporting agency Experian failed to respond to my dispute within the time required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). Full Statement : On XX/XX/year>, I submitted a formal written dispute to Experian regarding inaccurate information on my credit report. My dispute included proper identification and documentation. According to FCRA 611 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ), the credit bureau is required to investigate and provide results within 30 days. It has now been over 30 days, and I have not received any response, investigation results, corrections, or updates from the credit bureau. This lack of response constitutes non-compliance with the FCRA investigation timeline. Because the credit bureau failed to complete the investigation within the required timeframe, FCRA 611 ( a ) ( 5 ) ( A ) requires them to delete the disputed information. I am requesting that the CFPB enforce compliance and require the bureau to delete the following disputed item ( XXXX ) that will all be attached to my original letter that was first sent out to Experian on XX/XX/year> I am also requesting documentation showing whether the bureau initiated an investigation at all, and if so, why I was not notified within the required period.
