I contacted my financial institution and was advised a hold on my only financial accout, ( checking ) and was advised a " garnishment hold '' was placed on my account. I contacted the agency on file for a " bank garnishment hold '' and was told they were unable to provide me with the original debt origins, that an " email has been sent '' and that my call would be returned. When call was returned I immediately disputed the so called debt and further notified XXXX XXXX that I had already paid a visit to my County Courthouse and that there are ZERO hearings and or suits filed in my name. I was advised that the dispute had been filed and to contact my banking institution 's legal department in regards to the hold. I am stuck in financial distress since my only means to my funds are on a garnishment hold for a debt that has a current dispute filed with ZERO legal proceedings filed against me and ZERO negative hits against my credit on a debt that either isn't mine or beyond the statute of limitations for the state of Georgia. This has to be not only an unfair but illegal tactic that this " debt collector " is using to " bulldog '' victims into paying a debt that isn't theirs or being stuck in limbo on a garnishment hold with ZERO legal proceedings to dispute the validity of the debt.
