Capital One does a very poor job of distinguishing between minimum payments and statement balances that are due. I made a partial payment on my statement. When I went back a few days later to see what the remainder payment was, it said that there was no payment required. It didn't say no minimum payment required and show me the rest of the statement balance, it just said no payment required. When I called Capital One ( multiple times ) they told me that the solution was to click into the make payment button. But this solution doesn't make any sense since they're telling me that there is no payment required. Additionally, they wouldn't give me a curtesy credit even though all 6 people that I spoke to agreed that this was incomplete information. Additionally, when you call customer service, the automated voice tell you that you have a payment due of $ XXXX. But what they should actually be telling you is that you have a minimum payment due. They are misrepresenting the payments that are due and capitalizing on fees thereafter without taking actions to mitigate the situation.
