My existing credit card account with XXXX XXXX was acquired by Barclays Bank Deleware. I was not informed of the account change. The account number and the automatic payment settings were changed without prior authorization. The account then become delinquent and was reported as such to XXXX When I contacted Barclays to inquire about the account they refused to confirm the account number or that the account belonged to me. I was left with no choice but to report the account as fraudulent. When XXXX was able to confirm that the account was in fact acquired from XXXX XXXX I proceeded to contact Barclays to payoff the balance of the now delinquent account and they refused to take payment. Only after 1 hour of speaking with a support manager on the phone was I given a XXXX XXXX XXXX remit payment, and a new account number to submit for the payment. I am now left with a permanent delinquent report on my credit report that will adversely effect my ability to obtain credit in the future.
