On XX/XX/year> I called HSBC to close out my checking and savings account and send me the funds and I recieved the check a week later and deposited it. Early XXXX, I recieved the XXXX statement and saw that on XX/XX/year> that a XXXX dollar fee was taken from my checking account for maintenence because it said I had XXXX in account and so I was charged. I had a total of XXXX total balance and total balance needs to be XXXX to be a private client. I called bank right away after seeing the charge on statement but no can answer why I was charged even tho I had enough money. I spoke to multiple reps but they only apologized and said they dont know how it happened and since my account is closed, they have no way of reversing the fee. They mistakenly took my money and it is XXXX but it should never happened but now I dont know what else to do. XX/XX/XXXX is not a big amount but I feel they should be responsible for their mistake. What is my recourse here and please advise me as how to go about making them giving me back the fee that they should not have taken in the first place. Thank you so much.
