Consumer Narrative

Hi I applied for two credit card with American Express. Both incidents lead to unprofessionalism, confusion and injustice. The first time I called I was transferred to 5 different people, for who all told me that they have never encountered such difficulty with the system. I was told 3 very different steps to remedy a problem, that all clearly lack knowledge on a real solution and was lead down a rabbit hole due to their incompetency. One agent told me that my credit was locked and to unlock it. The next agent told me update my phone number and I did. The other agent told me that I had to reapply all over which lead me to apply for the second card. The company put me through much distress and un-necessary action that lasted for weeks wasted out of my schedule. I called and asked why was I denied even after I went through the torture of following all their recommended steps, that I now know was their way of just keeping me busy because they did not know how to fix the issue at hand. The answer they gave was " I didn't have any other credit cards. '' This is not a sufficient reason to denied someone. I have a high credit score and I am entitled to a card with a good balance. These banks have become more and more fraudulent since trump has been in office and this is a direction violation of my rights. according to the 1977 Community Reinvestment Act ( CRA ) I am allowed to be granted loans or credit because I am a minority, female and Muslim. Specifically, I believe there may be : Violations of CRA intent and obligations under OCC, Federal Reserve, and FDIC oversight ; Unfair, deceptive, and discriminatory practices, which may fall under the Consumer Financial Protection Bureaus jurisdiction ; Potential civil rights violations, which may be subject to the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division ; Failures to equitably reinvest in underserved communities, which may require review by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ( HUD ).
