I am filing a complaint regarding inaccurate and harmful credit reporting involving XXXX, XXXX and Jefferson Capital Systems. These companies are jointly responsible for the handling, verification, and reporting of several XXXX accounts that were previously placed with Jefferson Capital Systems and XXXX. I paid all three accounts in full, and I have written payoff letters from both Jefferson Capital and XXXX confirming that the balances were satisfied. Despite this, XXXX continues to report the accounts with outstanding balances of {$310.00}, {$410.00}, and {$260.00}, along with past due amounts. This information is false and has caused significant damage to my credit. I also filed disputes with the credit bureaus and uploaded the payoff letters as evidence. However, the bureaus responded that the information was verified as accurate, which indicates that XXXX incorrectly verified the accounts as unpaid, even though they have documentation showing they were paid. Additional details : On XX/XX/year>, I contacted XXXX by phone, requested that they correct the reporting, and offered to submit the payoff letters directly. I was told verbally that XXXX can not accept the documents and can not correct the reporting. XXXX confirmed that they notified XXXX that XXXX of the accounts was paid, and XXXX has the paid status internally. Despite having this information, XXXX continues to report the accounts as delinquent with outstanding balances and past due amounts. Affirms refusal to investigate and their failure to update accurate information violate FCRA Sections XXXX and XXXX. Regarding Jefferson Capital Systems : Jefferson Capital issued written payoff letters confirming that the accounts assigned to them were paid in full. However, they told me directly that they will not notify XXXX of the payment, even though they accepted my payment and issued the payoff letters. Jefferson Capital is required under FCRA/FDCPA regulations and their servicing agreement to communicate payment results to the original creditor. Their refusal to notify XXXX prevents XXXX from updating their internal records and results in continued inaccurate reporting. Their inaction contributed to the bureaus returning my dispute as verified, which further harmed my credit. Jefferson Capitals refusal to notify Affirm, combined with Affirms refusal to correct their reporting, has resulted in : Ongoing inaccurate credit reporting Continued reporting of false balances and past due amounts Financial harm Hindrance to my ability to secure financing Violations of both FCRA and FDCPA obligations I am requesting that CFPB require BOTH Affirm and Jefferson Capital to : Conduct a full reinvestigation of all accounts. Review all attached payoff letters from Jefferson Capital and XXXX. Update Affirms internal records to show {$0.00} balance, {$0.00} past due, and paid in full for all three accounts. Require Jefferson Capital to notify XXXX immediately of the payments. Correct the reporting with all three credit bureaus. Remove any negative or inaccurate information that resulted from their failure to update these accounts after payment.
