The issue of an incorrect public record misreported on my TransUnion credit report has been ongoing for 6 years. TransUnion has avoided, denied, or outright ignored repeated disputes to correct this error, which is and has affected my credit rating tremendously for several years. I've advised TransUnion that my identity was compromised in XXXX. A XXXX checking account was fraudulently opened in my name. Thereafter, I also discovered that a XXXX XXXX bankruptcy was being reported as a public record with several accompanying delinquent accounts. I discovered later that my father, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( deceased ), had stolen my identity several years prior and that this XXXX XXXX bankruptcy was indeed his and not mine. We have the same name, but I've never used XXXX. I've contacted TransUnion XXXX or more times requesting their " XXXX of XXXX '' of the fraudulent XXXX XXXX bankruptcy they've been reporting on my credit file for 6 years. They never properly responded to my requests. They've treated these requests as disputes despite my clearly stating I needed to know the method of verification used for the erroneous reporting of this public record. XXXX years ago, XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXemoved this public record after I sent them supporting documentation proving the public record was not mine. I've sent FTC affidavits, police reports proving my identity was compromised ; all of which TransUnion has ignored without proper investigation or explanation of how they verified this public record as mine. I have now probably disputed this item with TransUnion XXXX times over the past 6 years! They are now avoiding and ignoring my requests.
