During our closing date, Guild Mortgage encouraged us to sign our papers the night before we were even able to receive the keys. At closing, the representative initially told us that the cashiers check we provided was {$300.00} more than the amount due and that we would receive a refund. However, when she returned after printing paperwork, she backtracked and informed us that we would not be receiving the {$300.00} refund after all. This was confusing and inconsistent with what we were told earlier in the appointment. We believe the Closing Disclosure ( CD ) and the Loan Estimate provided to us prior to closing should be reviewed to determine why the refund amount was changed at the last minute and whether the funds were calculated correctly.
