I am the victim of identity theft. Multiple accounts, inquiries, and negative items appearing on my credit reports were created without my knowledge or authorization. Someone used my personal identifying information to open credit accounts, generate inquiries, and create negative payment history that does not belong to me. I filed an FTC Identity Theft Report and submitted a formal identity theft affidavit under FCRA 605B. Despite properly notifying the credit reporting agencies and furnishers, my credit file still contains fraudulent accounts, unauthorized inquiries, and inaccurate personal information. These items continue to harm me financially and interfere with my ability to secure reliable transportation, maintain stable housing, and manage medical needs.
