Subject : Unauthorized Hard Credit Inquiries Violation of FCRA 604, 609, 610 & 611 Credit Bureau : TransUnion Description of the Problem I am filing a formal complaint because my TransUnion credit report contains multiple unauthorized hard inquiries from companies with which I have no relationship, no applications, and no permissible purpose under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). The following companies appear on my credit report without my authorization : PREMIUM CB ( Miscellaneous ) XX/XX/XXXX PREMIUM CB ( Miscellaneous ) XX/XX/XXXX XXXX CARD ( Bank ) XX/XX/XXXX XXXX ( Finance ) XX/XX/XXXX XXXX FCU ( Finance ) XX/XX/XXXX I never applied for credit, never authorized these inquiries, and never gave written or electronic permission to any of these companies. These inquiries are reducing my credit score and creating risk of identity theft. -- - Violations of Federal Law 1. FCRA 604 ( a ) ( 3 ) Permissible Purpose Requirement A company must have my express permission or a legitimate credit application to access my credit report. These companies can not demonstrate any permissible purpose, making these inquiries unlawful. 2. FCRA 609 ( a ) ( 1 ) Right to Full Disclosure I have the right to know who accessed my credit, why, and under what authority. None of these companies have provided such information. 3. FCRA 610 & 611 Duty to Investigate & Correct Once a consumer disputes inaccurate or unauthorized items, the bureaus must : Conduct a reasonable investigation Obtain written verification from the furnisher Delete the item if the furnisher can not prove permissible purpose If the creditor can not produce my signed application or written authorization, the inquiry must be removed immediately.
