Subject : Identity Theft Dispute Request for Permanent Deletion of Fraudulent Accounts in order to maintain complete and accurate reporting Dear TransUnion, I am a victim of identity theft. My personal information was used without my authorization to open fraudulent accounts, and these accounts are now being reported on my credit file. The inclusion of these accounts is inaccurate and incomplete, and therefore violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and Metro 2 compliance standards Under FCRA Section 605B ( 15 U.S.C. 1681c-2 ), you are required to block and permanently delete any information resulting from identity theft. Additionally, FCRA 1681i ( a ) requires that you conduct a reasonable reinvestigation and remove any data that is not complete and accurate or can not be verified. Reporting or verifying fraudulent data violates FCRA 1681s-2 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ), which prohibits furnishers from reporting information they know or should know is inaccurate.
