I leased a vehicle in XX/XX/XXXX through Ally Financial. In XX/XX/XXXX, the car was involved in an accident and declared a total loss. The insurance company paid the full balance on the lease, and I also had GAP insurance coverage. After the payout, I received a bill from Ally Financial for {$5500.00} for alleged overmileage. This charge is unfair and inaccurate because : 1. I did not exceed the mileage limit in the contract. 2.The XXXX lease had not yet matured when the vehicle was totaled. 3. The insurance fully paid off the car, and Ally accepted the payment. 4. I had Gap Insurance 4. Based on my conversations with several leasing agents, banks Never charge overmileage after a total loss. Because of this error, my credit has been severely damaged, which has affected my business and caused significant financial harm.
