I am filing this complaint because American Honda Finance is inaccurately reporting the status of a charged-off account. The account was officially charged off in XXXX, but the furnisher continues to report new missed payments every month after the charge-off date. This reporting is inaccurate and misleading. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), once an account is charged off, a furnisher can not continue reporting additional delinquencies or late payments beyond the charge-off date. This activity is artificially prolonging the negative impact on my credit score. I previously disputed this with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX All three credit bureaus verified the account without correction, despite the clear reporting error. I also requested verification documentation from the company, but they did not provide any proof to support their continued reporting. I am requesting immediate deletion of this entire tradeline from all credit bureaus or, at minimum, removal of all late payments reported after the charge-off date in XXXX This is necessary to bring the reporting into compliance with FCRA and to stop the ongoing damage to my credit profile. I have attached screenshots of the reporting.
