We have been working with XXXX XXXX XXXX for over a year to obtain a home mortgage for a property located on federal trust land. We were assigned an agent who provided us with an exact closing date of XX/XX/year>, and told us the final step was to submit proof of wind and hail coverage for our homeowners insurance. We obtained the coverage and promptly sent proof as requested. After that, we did not receive any further communication, so we reached out on XX/XX/year>, after the date that was provided to us as our closing date. Shortly after, we received an email from the agents supervisor stating that there was now an additional issue we needed to resolve. This was unexpected, as we had previously been told that all requirements were met and that we were cleared to close. We worked quickly to address this new issue, which involved paying off a large loan at the last minute. During this time, we learned that the original loan officer we had been working with was no longer with the company. On XX/XX/year>, we were contacted by a new representative who said she would be reviewing our case and that she would reach out to us when she had updates. After giving ample time for a response, we reached back out on XX/XX/year>, requesting an update and expressing concern about our appraisal potentially expiring ( which we had paid for out of pocket ). Instead of a response from the new representative, we received an email from the supervisor stating that our file had been closed because we had not contacted them in time. They also stated that they would not refund us for the appraisal fee, despite our repeated attempts to stay in contact and follow up.
