I am disputing incorrect late payment marks on multiple federal student loan accounts serviced by XXXX and Navient during XXXX. All of my federal loans were protected under federal COVID-19 relief programs, including the CARES Act and subsequent extensions, which paused payments and prohibited reporting of late payments to credit bureaus from XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX. Despite these protections, XXXX and Navient reported late payments on multiple accounts during this period. This is inaccurate, violates federal law, and harms my credit. Specifically, this violates : Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), 15 U.S.C. 1681i and 1681c-2, which requires that credit reports be accurate and corrected when inaccurate. Federal student loan protections under the CARES Act, which prohibit reporting of late payments during the COVID-19 relief period.
