The welcome offer from AMEX via XXXX XXXX states that we will receive {$300.00} cashback if spending {$1000.00} on the card within 3 months of account opening. However, this is misleading as it is NOT within card account opening but from the date of ordering the card. My card was not sent to my mailing address and the addresses on the account also had errors. So it took extra time to locate the card, resulting in a delay to my receiving the card. After receiving it about a month later, I opened my AMEX account. However, between this delay and the misleading wording I was unaware I was 4 days outside the deadline apparently when I enquired on XX/XX/year> from AMEX via chat about how to apply the welcome offer. I was told it was no longer valid. I was told by the company I could request a 10 day extension to the welcome offer but it would take 2-4 weeks to even consider this. They have today denied this is even possible to extend. Please can you help, thank you. Small print : 1. {$300.00} Statement Credit To qualify for the {$300.00} Statement Credit you must make eligible purchases with your XXXX Investor Card from American Express that total {$1000.00} or more ( the " Threshold Amount '' ) within your first 3 months of Card Membership, starting from the date that your account is opened. The statement credit will be applied 8-12 weeks after the Threshold Amount is met. Eligible purchases to meet the Threshold Amount of this offer include those made by both the Basic and Additional Card Members on the Card Account. Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, cash advances, purchase of travelers checks, purchase or reloading of prepaid cards, purchases of gift cards, person-to-person payments, or other cash equivalents. Additional Card Members on your account are not eligible to receive the Card statement credit. To receive the Card statement credit, your Card account must not be canceled or past due at the time the Card statement credit is posted to your account. You can earn a {$300.00} Card Statement Credit after you spend {$1000.00} or more on eligible purchases on your Card within your first 3 months of Card Membership starting from the date that your account is opened. In rare instances, your period to spend {$1000.00} may be shorter than 3 months if there is a delay in receiving your Card. Also, purchases may fall outside of the 3 month period in some cases, such as a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction. ( For example, if you buy goods online, the purchase date may be the date the goods are shipped ). The statement credit will be applied 8-12 weeks after the Threshold Amount is met.
