On the XXXX Day Of XX/XX/year> there was a hard enquiry from XXXX XXXX in which I have no idea and how that reflect on my account. I immediately called the bank and informed them that I have been a victim of identity theft and the report should be removed from my credit report as soon as possible. But due to bank policy, they asked me to report it to my credit bureau, which is Equifax. I did report the issue to Equifax, they had asked me to provide some documents so they can be able to help me solve the issue. After sending them the required documents and dispute application through the mail, they sent me a letter after their investigation saying the hard enquiry report was accurate. I have never applied for any account with the XXXX XXXX and I still maintain that I wasn't the one who put in any application, i am a victim of identity fraud. My information was compromised and I want to bring to your notice that this is unfair and I want your good office to step into this matter in order to resolve it. I ask that Equifax remove this hard enquiry on my credit report. I will not take responsibility of what I don't know, this is beyond me at this point and that is why am coming to CFPB to help me step into this matter and resolve it.
