Traded my vehicle that was financed with XXXX XXXX and requested a return of the monies paid for gap insurance since I was cancelling the gap coverage. When I looked up the payoff for my vehicle with XXXX the statement from XX/XX/year> stated my pay off was {$30000.00} and that was good until XX/XX/year> which I provided to the dealer I was buying my new car from. The dealer sent payoff for {$30000.00} on XX/XX/year>. XXXX sent me a check XX/XX/year> for {$41.00}. I called to ask about the gap insurance cancellation check and was told my check was absorbed because we actually owed {$31000.00} principal plus an extra {$63.00} in interest. Our statement showed the payoff at {$30000.00} and the dealer we traded the car to sent {$30000.00} which is short {$55.00}. Our gap refund of {$980.00} was absorbed in my belief for XXXX personal gain. XXXX changed the payoff within the statement period showing that the payoff on the statement was good til XX/XX/year> and it was paid off XX/XX/year> which is XXXX days prior to payoff on the statement. I would like my money from the gap cancellation in the amount that is stated on my XXXX account of {$980.00}
