Consumer Narrative

I am filing this complaint because my credit report with EQUIFAX contains inaccurate name variations, invalid addresses, and multiple fraudulent collection accounts that I did not authorize or provide. I am a victim of identity theft and have submitted a valid FTC Identity Theft Report along with my identification, Social Security, and proof of current address to support my claim. Specifically, I found fraudulent collection accounts reported by the following furnishers : XXXX XXXX, account number XXXX, opened on XX/XX/XXXX, with a balance of {$0.00}. XXXX XXXX, account number XXXX, opened on XX/XX/XXXX, with a balance of {$700.00}. XXXX XXXX account number XXXX, opened on XX/XX/XXXX, with a balance of {$630.00}. I did not authorize or open any of these accounts, and I have no knowledge of them. These fraudulent accounts are negatively affecting my credit and were placed without my consent, in violation of my consumer rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), including : 15 U.S.C. 1681i Right to dispute and have inaccurate or unverifiable information removed ; 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 Furnishers must not report inaccurate information ; 15 U.S.C. 1681b No permissible purpose for accessing or reporting these accounts ; and 15 U.S.C. 1692e Prohibits false or misleading representations in debt collection ( FDCPA ). I am demanding the immediate and permanent deletion of all of these fraudulent collections from my credit report. Additionally, I have identified inaccurate personal information, including multiple unauthorized name variations and outdated addresses, listed on my credit report that do not belong to me. My only legal name is XXXX XXXX XXXX, as it appears on my Social Security Card ( see proof attached ). No other name variation is valid or authorized to appear on my credit profile. My only correct and current address is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, TX XXXX ( see proof attached ). Any other address different from this one is inaccurate, no longer associated with me, and must be permanently removed. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. 1681e ( b ), credit bureaus are required to maintain maximum possible accuracy in the information they report. Additionally, under 15 U.S.C. 1681i ( a ) ( 5 ), unverifiable or incorrect information must be deleted. I formally demand that you update and correct my personal information to reflect only accurate and verifiable data as required by law.
