On XX/XX/XXXX, I purchased a van through XXXX, with financing provided by Ally Financial. At the time of purchase, I was informed that the van had existing damages. XXXX acknowledged these issues and provided me with a written agreementsigned by representatives XXXX XXXX and XXXX that the necessary repairs would be completed at any local XXXX location. Shortly after the purchase, the van began exhibiting mechanical issues, including an unsafe condition where the vehicle would attempt to reverse on its own while parked. Due to these reliability concerns, I was ultimately unable to keep the van. It was later sold at auction for the same amount I originally paid. As part of the transaction, I also traded in my XXXX, which was valued at about roughly {$21000.00}. Despite this, Ally Financial has since claimed that I owe a balance of approximately {$17000.00}. I received a collection letter referencing this balance would be forgiven in the amount of {$2300.00}, but due to financial hardship at the time, I was unable to make a payment. Given the confusion over the balance, I contacted the credit bureaus and requested verification of the debt, as I did not recall owing this amount. Additionally, Ally Financial has reported inaccurate information to the credit bureaus, including : Incorrect dates of last activity A charge-off dated XX/XX/XXXX, which conflicts with the actual timeline and appears to violate provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) These discrepancies have severely impacted my credit and financial well-being.
