My Cash App account was closed in XXXX for an alleged Terms of Service violation. At the time, I was never told which specific activity or clause I supposedly violated. In XX/XX/XXXX, I attempted to appeal through the official Cash App app and was assigned case number XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a denial email from Cash App Support ( Lynx ) stating only that my account had activity that violates the Terms of Service. No section or rule was identified, leaving me with no ability to understand or correct the issue. Since my closure in XXXX, Cash Apps Terms of Service have been revised multiple times ( effective XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX ). I was never told which version applied to me. Holding me to unknown or shifting standards is fundamentally unfair and contradicts transparency obligations for regulated financial services providers. Cash App is a service of Block , Inc., a licensed money transmitter. It is not a bank, and therefore can not hide behind opaque risk management policies. As a regulated financial services provider, Block has an obligation to provide clear disclosures and fair treatment under consumer protection laws.
