Earlier this month we redeemed points from our Amex Platinum Business Card for e-gift cards prior to cancellation. Upon cancellation, those electronic gift cards are no longer accessible. The amount totals {$2400.00} ( {$1000.00} XXXX XXXX, XXXX {$100.00} gift cards at XXXX XXXX, {$250.00} XXXX XXXX, {$250.00} at XXXX XXXX, XXXX {$25.00} at XXXX XXXX, {$100.00} at XXXX, {$250.00} at XXXX XXXX ). Amex customer service explanation is that the systems are separate since they are separate products and closing associated account servers your ability is to view any linked information online. This makes no sense. The systems are separate but both maintained by AMEX. They maintain that the e-gift cards are cancelled because the card was. I still have 2 other Amex cards open as well.
