XX/XX/year> I was emailed that a debt has been sold to Jefferson Capital in the amount of {$2000.00} for a XXXX XXXX account. According to my XXXX and other credit reporting apps they have re-aged the debt to XX/XX/year>. Which is incorrect and illegal. The debt has been sold three different times in the past 3 years. I had contacted the previous company XXXX to verify the information and confirm the debt is mine but had no response. I take no responsibility for this debt, I am reporting Jefferson Capital for incorrectly reporting the date opened causing it to show as a new account and therefore will be on my credit for an extra 7 years.
