To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally dispute the negative credit reporting related to a student loan allegedly in my name through XXXXDepartment of Education . I recently became aware that multiple delinquent payments from this loan have been reported to the credit bureaus between XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX and were reported all at once. These entries have devastated my credit score, dropping it to a XXXX, and they do not reflect my payment behavior, history, or awareness of this loan. To say I was blindsided is an understatement. This situation has caused an immense amount of emotional distress, financial hardship, and confusion. I had no prior knowledge that this loan existed. This unanticipated and unnotified reporting has now significantly jeopardized my financial future and opportunities. Whats most painful is that it happened without my knowledge or the ability to act on it beforehand. I respectfully request that this situation be reconsidered for removal from my credit report. I have already worked with XXXX to set up a repayment plan, despite never having been properly informed or billed. This shows my willingness to take responsibility, but I do not believe I should be punished for something I was not given the chance to prevent. I am asking, with deep sincerity, that you review this case not only from a technical standpoint but from a human one. I am XXXX XXXX XXXX and trying to build my life. One administrative gap has now placed that future at risk. Please consider removing or amending the negative credit reporting associated with this loan.
