I am submitting this complaint regarding Lobel Financials failure to provide a required IRS Form 1099-C ( Cancellation of Debt ). I had an auto loan with Lobel Financial. The vehicle was repossessed and the account was subsequently charged off/placed in collections. Per IRS requirements, lenders must issue a Form 1099-C to the borrower when a debt is canceled or forgiven. Lobel Financial has not provided me with this form, leaving me unable to accurately report income and meet my federal tax obligations. I have attempted to resolve this matter directly with Lobel Financial but have not received the required documentation. I am requesting that the CFPB compel Lobel Financial to : 1.
