What happened : I am locked out of my PayPal account and unable to access my funds or resolve the issue because PayPal requires me to log in before I can reach customer support. Despite repeated attempts, the login recovery process fails with only a generic error message. PayPal still sends me marketing emails to the same verified address, so they clearly have my information. However, they refuse to authenticate me through any method outside of logging in, which is impossible in my situation for reasons I can't determine nor will PayPal provide to me. I attempted to use PayPals support channels, but every option requires me to log in first. This creates a dead end for locked-out customers. I also attempted password resets and recovery steps through the email on file, but PayPals system continues to block me without explanation. I also have difficulties with phone calls so their only remaining option will not work for me, I could not imagine the difficulties a person hard of hearing or who is deaf would have in attempting this recovery process. This is unfair and unreasonable business practice : PayPal has my personal and financial information, communicates with me via email, yet refuses to provide a functional support channel for account recovery. It effectively traps me out of my own account and funds while continuing to market to me.
