I called Navy Federal because I seen that the credit card expiration date was going out. I called to request a new card to be sent out and this is when I was made aware that the account would be closed. I am not sure as their reason for closing the account Because since Ive had the account since XXXX I have never been late or missed a monthly payment on the account. I find it ironic that you make monthly payments on an account for XXXX consecutive years never missing a payment and then they decide that they want to close the account. They actually took the money from my Credit account or rather from my checking account without my permission and I asked them to put the money back because it was to cover my bills. If they were going to close the account then once the account officially closed, then set up a payment plan with me so that I could pay the card completely off. For the first time since having this account, I have been reported XXXX days late and I am not XXXX days late. They made a decision to close the account so I dont understand how they can make a decision to close the account and still consider the account XXXX days past due. They did not give me a reason why they were closing the account and being that Ive never missed the payment nor been late with a payment. it is hurtful. I explained to them that I was paying off other Credit and paying off cards with higher balances first then I will be able to focus on paying more on this account to get their balance down and they were not willing to work with me to do that. I would like a XXXX day mark removed and I would also like Credit for paying this account consecutively for XXXX years without missing one payment. Take those XXXX years worth of payments and put them toward the total balance or reopen the card because out of fairness I have not forfeited the card contract. Ive never missed the payment nor have I ever been late.
