I am filing this complaint against DHI Mortgage ( DHIM ) for mishandling my household income documentation, providing inconsistent guidance, and causing financial harm during the mortgage application process for our FHA loan. I submitted all required documentation of my husbands XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) income in accordance with FHA guidelines. DHIM initially indicated that XXXX income could be considered if properly documented. I provided the documentation promptly. Despite this, DHIM excluded XXXX income from our qualifying income during loan evaluation. As a result, we were forced to pay off substantial debt to qualify for DHIM loan incentives, which would likely not have been necessary if XXXX income had been properly considered. In XXXX official response letter to my XXXX complaint, they later stated they would use partial XXXX income with proper documentation, even though I had already provided all necessary documentation. DHIM also states that as of XX/XX/year>, it stopped allowing XXXX income on FHA loans based on an alleged audit or communication with HUD. Our loan application was submitted in XX/XX/year>, XXXX months after DHIM states it implemented a policy prohibiting the use of XXXX income on FHA loans. This is negligence on behalf of the loan originator. There was no mention of an internal policy prohibiting XXXX income at any point during the early stages of the loan.I relied on this professional guidance in good faith, assuming that all submitted income sources were acceptable under both FHA and DHIM criteria. Our mortgage has since closed without XXXX income being factored, resulting in financial harm due to unnecessary debt repayment and lost incentives.
