I am filing a complaint regarding inaccurate and unverified information being reported on my credit file. Company : LVNV FUNDING LLC The original creditor is XXXX XXXX. I previously disputed this account because I have never had a contract with this debt collector for any debt. I specifically asked for proof from the original creditor showing that this debt collector owns the debt and has the legal authority to collect on it. Instead of delivering this validation, the bureaus verified the account without furnishing proof. I disagree with the results of their investigation. To this date, I have not received : Documentation from the original creditor verifying the debt, or Proof that LVNV FUNDING LLC has legal ownership and authority to collect this account. Despite the lack of validation, the account continues to be reported on my credit file by Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion, which is an inaccurate and misleading representation. Violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) : 15 U.S.C. 1681e ( b ) : Credit reporting agencies are required to ensure maximum possible accuracy of the information they report. Reporting this unverified collection without documentation fails to meet this standard. 15 U.S.C. 1681i ( a ) : When a consumer disputes an item, the credit reporting agencies are required to conduct a reasonable reinvestigation. My dispute was not properly investigated, as no proof of debt was provided ; yet, the account remains open.
