I am filing this complaint against Equifax for the continued reporting of inaccurate late payment entries, despite my dispute under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). The account in question is : XXXX XXXX Late Date XX/XX/year>. These late payment notations are the direct result of the furnishers internal reporting errors. I never failed to make timely payments on these account. The furnishers misreported my payment history to Equifax, yet Equifax continues to publish this inaccurate information on my credit file. I previously disputed these inaccuracies with Equifax under FCRA 1681i, which requires them to conduct a reasonable reinvestigation and delete or correct any information found to be inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable. Equifax failed to conduct a proper investigation and continues to report these unverifiable late payments. Per FCRA 1681s-2 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ), furnishers are prohibited from reporting information they knowor have reasonable cause to believeis inaccurate. Despite this, Equifaxs reinvestigation process failed to identify or correct these reporting errors. These false late payment entries have caused significant damage to my creditworthiness, emotional distress, and financial harm, as they have negatively impacted my credit score and ability to obtain favorable credit terms.
