I am filing this complaint against Eastern Account System , Inc. regarding an alleged debt originally associated with XXXX XXXX. Eastern Account System has repeatedly attempted to collect this alleged debt without providing proper validation of the debt, despite my request. I previously disputed the debt and requested verification, but they failed to provide sufficient documentation to establish that the debt is valid or that they have the legal right to collect it. The amount they are attempting to collect has also been inconsistent ( ranging from {$290.00} to {$690.00} ), which further calls into question the accuracy and legitimacy of their claim. Because of these failures, I exercised my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), 15 U.S.C. 1692c ( c ), and sent a formal cease and desist letter ( attached to this complaint ). In this letter, I instructed Eastern Account System to stop all communication with me regarding this alleged debt.
