I am filing a complaint against XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) and the credit bureaus for inaccurate reporting. On my credit report ( as reflected on XXXX XXXX ), XXXX is being listed as the original creditor. This is factually incorrect XXXX is a debt buyer/collection agency, not the original lender. By misreporting themselves as the original creditor, XXXX and the bureaus are violating : FCRA 607 ( b ) : Duty to ensure maximum possible accuracy. FCRA 609 ( a ) ( 1 ) : My right to know the true source of the information in my file. This misrepresentation is misleading because it creates the false impression that I originally entered into a credit relationship with XXXX, which I did not. It also makes it harder for me to identify the true origin of the debt. I request that the CFPB require Experian, Equifax, and XXXX to : 1. Correct the tradeline to accurately reflect that XXXX is a collection agency, not the original creditor. 2. Provide the name and information of the true original creditor. 3. Delete the tradeline if accurate correction can not be made. This false designation is not a minor technical error it is a material misrepresentation that affects how lenders view my credit history.
