Capital One has my last name spelled incorrectly and my Social Security Number recorded with one wrong digit. These clerical errors caused my account ( ending in XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX ) to be blocked and my high credit limit revoked journey identity, the time of my life, where everything was reported to the FTC and including their own internal processes, IRS and all other regulatory agencies with proven documentation of the identity, theft, and selling of my information from XXXX XXXX and police reports. I provided them with the proof via email was sent directly from them and Ive called over the course of the past XXXX years and nothing has been done. I provided government ID, Social Security card, and proof of address multiple times, but Capital One has not corrected its records. Due to the nature of Capital One recorded my last name incorrectly and my Social Security Number off by one digit. Despite providing proof ( government-issued ID, Social Security card, proof of address ), Capital One has failed to correct these errors. Because of this, my {$30000.00} credit line was revoked, two other cards remain open under the wrong name/SSN, and I have been denied proper billing statements. This caused financial harm, higher out-of-pocket costs, and emotional distress during the time of my daughters passing. I believe this violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), Truth in Lending Act ( TILA/FCBA ), and Equal Credit Opportunity Act ( ECOA ). I am requesting correction of my records, reinstatement of my account and limit, copies of all billing statements ( up to 7 years ), and compensation for actual and punitive damages due to Capital Ones reckless disregard for my rights.
