Complaint Against Truist Bank Mishandled Account Closure and False Fraud Label On XX/XX/year>2025, I was contacted by a Truist Branch Leader, XXXX XXXX, regarding opening accounts for my personal and business. After a positive conversation, I trusted Truist and opened a business checking and savings account for my company XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/year>, funding each with {$50.00}. I later planned to open a personal account and move my direct deposits. On XX/XX/year>2025, I attempted to activate my debit card but discovered the account had been closed without any notice, explanation, or refund. I was shocked to learn Truist had labeled the account as fraud detected in its internal notes. This false accusation has harmed my reputation and credibility as a nonprofit and small business owner. Despite being told a refund check was mailed, I never received it. On XX/XX/scrub>, 2025, I followed up and was told I must visit a branch in person to correct my mailing address even though Truist created the error. In addition, when I called XXXX XXXX ( the same person who originally solicited my business ), he claimed he did not remember me or our prior conversation. Had I already switched my personal accounts and direct deposits over to Truist as planned, this wrongful closure and false fraud accusation would have created a chain reaction of financial damage disrupting my nonprofits operations, my business responsibilities, and my personal obligations. This type of mishandling is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about how Truist treats customers, especially small businesses and nonprofits that rely on stable banking relationships.
