My XXXX XXXX account has been completely frozen since XX/XX/year>. I can not log in to the app or website, withdraw funds, or access my account in any way. Since I am currently abroad in XXXX, I called Schwab during U.S. evening hours. I was told that the department handling my case was closed and that I should call during U.S. daytime hours. When I called again during those hours, I was informed the freeze was due to a deposit I made, which Schwab considered high. They requested that I fax documents proving the source of funds. I faxed the required documents immediately on the same day. Since then, I have called five or six times. Every time, I am told the exact same thing : that another department is handling my case, and that they will send an email to that department. I have never received a single call back, email, or written update from Schwab. Whether I call during the day or evening, the response is always identical that they will escalate and someone will contact me. Nobody ever has. I understand that Schwab may need to verify the origin of funds as part of a security process. However, there is no transparency in how this process is being handled. I faxed the requested proofs immediately, but Schwab has not confirmed receipt, has not reviewed them in a timely manner, and has not provided any information about next steps. If this is truly a security check, then the documents should have been reviewed and my account restored by now. This lack of transparency and action has left me stranded abroad with no access to my money, creating severe financial hardship. Schwab is wrongfully withholding access to my funds and failing to communicate with me in any meaningful way.
