Consumer Narrative
This is a formal complaint filed with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) concerning the continued reporting of inaccurate, unauthorized, and/or unverifiable accounts on my consumer credit file. The credit reporting agencies have failed to ensure the maximum possible accuracy of the information they report, in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). Legal Violations : 1. 15 U.S.C. 1681b ( a ) ( 2 ) Prohibits consumer reports from being furnished without written authorization. 2. 15 U.S.C. 1681a ( 4 ) Defines consumer report subject to all FCRA protections. 3. FCRA 605B ( 15 U.S.C. 1681c-2 ) Requires blocking of information that is unverifiable, unauthorized, or resulting from identity-related issues. Reinsertion without proper certification is a violation of federal law. The disputed items were not validated with original documentation ( such as signed contracts or written authorization ) and appear to have been processed through electronic or automated systems such as e-OSCAR, which do not meet the verification requirements under the FCRA. Please note, I do not authorize the use of automated systems such as e-OSCAR for verification. I require original documentation that links me personally to these accounts. Despite prior disputes, the CRAs have failed to remove or block these accounts, continuing to report unverifiable information in violation of federal law. I request CFPB oversight and enforcement to ensure that these items being immediately deleted and permanently blocked from reinsertion, and that the credit bureaus comply with all requirements under the FCRA. ACCOUNTS : - XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX I have already filed a Police report Identity Theft with the Federal Trade Commission ( FTC ) , which supports this complaint. Under FCRA 605B ( 15 U.S.C. 1681c-2 ), the credit reporting agencies are required to delete and block the disputed information upon receipt of an FTC Identity Theft Report and a written dispute. My FTC Report Number is : XXXX I respectfully request that the CFPB enforce compliance with the above laws, require the immediate delete and permanently block of the disputed information, and take appropriate action against the credit bureaus for their failure to comply, and Assurance that no reinsertion occurs without proper certification. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. This complaint is filed to preserve my rights under federal law and to request CFPB enforcement to protect consumers against unlawful credit reporting practices.
