Consumer Narrative
In late XXXX, early XX/XX/XXXX I contacted Bridgecrest ( Spoke with either XXXX or XXXX ) and informed them that I was turning in the XXXX XXXX XXXX due to the transmission going out a year prior ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and I couldnt continue paying on a vehicle that I couldnt drive and was just sitting in the parking lot. When speaking with the representative she suggested that I get the transmission fixed. I informed her that I had already checked in getting it fixed and deemed that it wasnt financially feasible as it was going to cost me over {$4000.00} to do so and that I had checked with 3 different mechanic shops ( XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) before making the decision, in which they all stated that the transmission couldnt be rebuilt due to it being a XXXX transmission, therefore I would have to get a new one and that it would be costly. I also informed her that I went back to where I purchased the car ( XXXX XXXX- XXXX XXXX was the salesman that I met with ) when the transmission first went out in hopes of being able to trade in the vehicle altogether or that they would at least fix the transmission, but unfortunately they wouldnt do a trade in since the transmission was out and they wouldnt fix it. Once providing her with this information, she agreed to process the vehicle being picked up and having their tower to come get it. I informed her of where to pick up the vehicle and where I would leave the keys. The vehicle was picked up without any issues. Fast forward to XX/XX/XXXX, I received a collection charge on my credit report and it stated that it was an involuntary repo. Ive reached out to Bridgecrest a couple of times and disputed the charge and how its listed on my credit as the information isnt accurate. Bridgecrest has stated that it is valid since I gave the car back. XXXX XXXX was also able to resell the vehicle, therefore there shouldnt be anything else that I owe.
