Around XXXX, Capital one suddenly locked my account and required some documents from me. I sent them all the documents except for a state issued ID. At that time, I didnt have any state issued ID, so I told them I will get a XXXX driver license but it takes time ( I can transfer my XXXX driver license to XXXX drivers license but needs 2-3 months ). They confirmed it is okay, and just give them a call when I get it. Around the beginning of XXXX, I received a letter from Capital one saying that I need to send them the documents they requests in 45 days, otherwise my account will be closed. I gave them a call before this 45-days deadline, and their representative confirmed again with me that what I need to do is giving them a call when I get my XXXX driver license and there is nothing to worry ( the representative said this at least 5 times ). However, I received a letter from Capital one around mid XXXX saying that my account has been closed. I immediately called them and explained my situation to a representative that I did call them to confirm that Capital one will wait until I get my XXXX driver license, but the representative said that the decision of closing my account was made by other department, it is a policy, and there is nothing she can do. I have already got my XXXX driver license last month, so I did whatever they asked. They had miscommunication between their own departments and thus made a mistake on closing my account which turned out having negative impact on my credit score.
