I am filing this complaint against TransUnion for reporting an inaccurate Late 30 Days notation on my credit file for XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX Acct # XXXX, reported on XX/XX/year>. This reporting violates my rights under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act ( GLBA ), 15 U.S.C. 6801 and 6802, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), 15 U.S.C. 1681i. Under 6801, financial instit utions must protect the confidentiality of my nonpublic personal information. My late payment history is private and nonpublic. Under 6802, financial institutions may not disclose nonpublic personal information to nonaffiliated third parties without proper notice and the opportunity to opt out. I never received such notice, nor did I give written consent for this late payment to be furnished to TransUnion. I formally disputed this item with TransUnion and requested deletion unless they could provide : 1. Proof of my written authorization to disclose the late payment to them. 2. A copy of the privacy notice and opt-out opportunity provided to me. To date, TransUnion has not provided the required documentation and has failed to remove the late payment. This inaccurate and unauthorized reporting has harmed my credit profile and financial standing.
