The account was first reported to my credit report on XX/XX/year> with a balance of {$120.00} Since then, I have requested validation of the debt, including : 1. A copy of the original agreement between the debt collector and the original creditor showing they have legal ownership or authority to collect on the debt. 2. Proof of how much they paid to acquire the debt from the original creditor. 3. A copy of the original signed agreement from when the account was first opened. To date, they have failed to provide any of this documentation. In addition, the debt collector continues to call me repeatedly and harass me, which I believe is a clear violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). Their actions are causing emotional stress and damage to my credit profile. I respectfully request that the CFPB investigate this matter, and that the debt collector be required to either provide the appropriate documentation or remove the account from my credit report.
