I am filing this complaint because my credit report is displaying information that is outdated and past the statute of limitations for reporting under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), specifically the 7-year reporting limit for negative information ( 15 U.S.C. 1681c ) .The account in question is XXXX XXXX XXXX and it is being reported by Experian , Equifax , and TransUnion ]. This account became delinquent and was charged off more than 7 years ago, yet it continues to appear on my credit report. This continued reporting is inaccurate and a violation of FCRA guidelines, which prohibit the inclusion of derogatory information that is older than 7 years, with the exception of certain bankruptcies and other specific cases not applicable here. I have already contacted the credit reporting agencies and/or the furnisher of the information and requested a correction, but the issue remains unresolved.
