In 2023, I held approximately {$10000.00} USD in my Coinbase account. In XX/XX/year>, Coinbase claimed that the funds were transferred to the State of Wyoming as unclaimed property due to account inactivity. However, I never received any email, letter, notification, or in-app alert from Coinbase informing me of this action. When I contacted the Wyoming Unclaimed Property Division, they confirmed in writing ( see attached screenshot ) that Coinbase did NOT send any money to them under my name. As a result, my funds are neither in my account, nor with the state. Coinbase can not verify where the money went, nor have they taken responsibility. I consider this negligent handling of consumer funds and possibly misappropriation. I request the CFPB 's help in recovering my {$10000.00}, and in compelling Coinbase to explain the whereabouts of my money.
