To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally address a pattern of serious and recurring errors in my credit report maintained by TransUnion, which have caused me significant financial harm, emotional distress, and reputational damage. XXXX XXXX Credit Card ( Delinquency Reported Incorrectly ) In or around XX/XX/XXXX, during the COVID-19 pandemic, XXXX XXXX filed for bankruptcy. I had fully paid off my XXXX XXXX credit card, and the store had closed. Despite this, TransUnion reported the account as delinquent with no details or supporting information. This inaccurate delinquency remained on my report for approximately five years, harming my creditworthiness without cause. 2. XXXX XXXX Account XXXX XXXX TransUnion reported two separate XXXX accounts, each with an identical balance of over {$16000.00} and the same account number. This falsely inflated my debt, drastically skewing my debt-to-income ratio. I had to formally dispute this duplication. False Delinquency on XXXX XXXX Account Following my dispute of the XXXX duplication, TransUnion added another unsubstantiated delinquency to my report, this time for a XXXXXXXX XXXX credit card. Again, no supporting information or history was providedjust a vague negative flag. This is not only inaccurate but grossly misleading. 4. Omission of Long-Standing Mortgage with XXXX XXXX Despite my numerous requests over the years, TransUnion continues to fail to properly report my mortgage with XXXX XXXX XXXX which I have held since XXXX. I have consistently made timely payments and built significant equity in my home in XXXX XXXX XXXX This omission eliminates a major component of my credit profile and misrepresents my financial responsibility. I want to be clear : I have never been negligent with my finances. I came to this country at XXXX XXXX XXXX, with two suitcases and a baby, and worked my way through college. I earned XXXX XXXX bought my home in XXXX, raised my daughter alone, and have maintained financial stability and discipline throughout. TransUnions repeated mistakes are not simple clerical errorsthey are damaging, negligent, and bordering on defamatory. They have led to : Denials of credit opportunities Increased interest rates Lowered credit card limits Emotional distress from repeated misrepresentation of my character and financial responsibility I am formally requesting : A thorough review and immediate correction of all inaccurate entries, including : Removal of any false delinquencies Correction of duplicated accounts Reinstatement and accurate reporting of my XXXX XXXX account That TransUnion provide a corrected credit report to all creditors and institutions that have accessed my credit in the last two years. A written explanation detailing the actions taken to correct these errors. If these issues are not promptly and thoroughly resolved, I am prepared to escalate this matter to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ), the Federal Trade Commission ( FTC ), and seek legal counsel if necessary.
