I did not apply for or authorize this account, and I have never received any statements, cards, or communication regarding this debt prior to its appearance on my credit report. Upon seeing the account, I submitted a dispute, because the account was opened fraudulently, with the credit bureaus and reached out to the reporting companies. In XX/XX/year>, I was informed the account had been deleted from my credit report. Instead, the account had been sold to a third-party collection agency. Despite this, I never received any prior notice or opportunity to verify the debt. I'm filing a complaint with the CFPB, and as a result, I would like the collection agency to cease collection efforts and remove the tradeline from my credit report. However, I still dispute the legitimacy of this debt and request full validation, including proof that I opened the account and authorized the charges.
