vanilla gift card put on hold without cause funds inaccessible what happened : i purchased a vanilla gift card and used it for basic necessities. suddenly, the card was put on hold while i was trying to buy food. i called the number on the back and the representative gave no clear reason, just told me id need to wait XXXX business days for a replacement. i was not told why this happened or given a case number. this has left me without access to my own funds. i was relying on this card to get essentials, and now im being forced to go hungry because of an arbitrary and unexplained hold. i cant even check the balance or see any fraud alertsjust locked out. i believe this is predatory and exploitative. i am asking the consumer financial protection bureau to investigate vanilla/incomm for holding funds without due process, and for failing to provide users with a way to immediately access or dispute their balance. i want my money back. i want access to the funds i legally bought. and i want this to not happen to anyone else.
