I am filing this complaint because TransUnion is reporting two hard inquiries on my credit file that I never authorized or initiated. The inquiries are from XXXXXXXX XXXXXX/XX/XXXX and XXXX XXXXXX/XX/XXXX). These credit pulls were made without my knowledge, approval, or written consent. Under 15 U.S.C. 1681b of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), access to a consumer report is only lawful if there is a valid permissible purpose and prior written authorization from the consumer, neither of which exists in this case. I previously submitted disputes to TransUnion along with supporting documentation confirming that I did not authorize these inquiries. Despite this, TransUnion has failed to remove them. They have not provided any verification, proof of permissible purpose, or explanation as to how these inquiries were validated. This lack of investigation and failure to comply with federal law directly violates the FCRA. These unauthorized inquiries are negatively affecting my credit score and privacy. TransUnion 's continued reporting of these items without any proof or legal justification constitutes willful and negligent noncompliance under 15 U.S.C. 1681n and 1681o. I am demanding that TransUnion delete these inquiries immediately and provide written confirmation of their removal. I am asking the CFPB to step in and hold TransUnion fully accountable for these ongoing violations.
