On XX/XX/year> Equifax reported a fraudulent account ( XXXX Account # XXXX ) on my credit report. Immediately the next day on XX/XX/year> I went to a XXXX XXXX and confirmed with the branch manager XXXX XXXX that I never opened or authorized anyone to open XXXX Account # XXXX and that it was fraud and that I was a victim of identity theft. I followed up with the branch manager and provided her and XXXX with a police report, FTC identity theft affidavit and CFPB complaint about my identity being stolen and the defamation of my reputation. To date the fraudulent account has been closed and is being investigated. However Equifax is still reporting this fraudulent account ( XXXX Account # XXXX ) that occurred from identity theft on my credit report. I have sent Equifax a dispute letter detailing the fraudulent account along with my passport Identification, Police Report, FTC Identity Theft Affidavit, proof of address, requesting that Equifax block this fraudulent information from my account pursuant to FCRA section 605 B U.S.C. 15 section 1681 c-2.
