I have an auto loan with XXXX XXXX for a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The total financed amount was {$32000.00}, with a XXXX XXXX interest rate and a fixed loan term of XXXX XXXX. At the time of signing the loan, I specifically asked for a shorter XXXX term, but was told that XXXX only XXXX a XXXX term. I was also told directly both by the dealer and XXXX representatives that I could pay extra each month and that any overpayments would go directly to principal, which would help me pay off the loan faster and save on interest. Since the beginning of the loan ( XX/XX/XXXX ), I have been consistently paying {$750.00} per month, even though my required payment is only {$590.00}. I contacted XXXX in writing ( multiple times ) and formally requested that all extra payments be applied exclusively to the principal balance, not toward interest or future installments. Their responses were vague and did not clearly confirm that this would happen. Despite always paying on time or early, I have now paid a total of {$8200.00} over XXXX XXXX, but only {$4900.00} has been applied to principal. Over {$3300.00} was applied to interest and other charges which is nearly double what I should have paid based on a XXXX XXXX APR. This clearly violates what I was promised when the loan was signed. I followed up again after noticing this discrepancy, but my complaint was ignored and my support ticket was closed. I feel misled and financially harmed. I am requesting the following : A full review and correction of my payment history Reallocation of my overpayments toward principal A corrected loan balance Written confirmation that all future overpayments will go to principal only, as promised
