I am submitting this complaint against Experian for failure to comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and FTC identity theft provisions. On [ XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX. ], I submitted to Experian an identity theft report along with my government-issued ID and Social Security card . These documents clearly show that certain accounts on my credit report were the result of identity theft. Despite providing all required documentation, Experian declined to remove or block these fraudulent accounts. This is a direct violation of my rights under the FCRA ( 15 U.S.C. 1681c-2 ), which requires a credit reporting agency to block fraudulent information within four business days of receiving : 1. Proof of identity ; 2. A copy of an identity theft report ; 3. Identification of the fraudulent accounts ; and 4. A statement that the information does not relate to any transaction I made. Experians refusal to act has caused ongoing harm, including inaccurate negative information remaining on my credit report, damage to my credit score, and emotional XXXX. I have attached my original identity theft report, proof of ID and SSN, and copies of my communications with Experian to show that I complied with all legal requirements.
